Leading California consumer products litigator joins Hogan Lovells in San Francisco

San Francisco, Calif., 13 April 2023 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells announced today that Trenton H. Norris has joined as a partner in the firm’s Disputes practice in the San Francisco office. Norris, who joins from Arnold & Porter, is one of the nation’s leading practitioners in class action and consumer litigation—particularly in litigation under California’s toxics and labeling law, Proposition 65.

Norris has advised and defended hundreds of companies regarding Proposition 65 and California’s expansive consumer protection laws. He brings a wealth of experience litigating complex scientific and technical disputes across a wide swath of products, technologies, and industries, including foods and beverages, dietary supplements, cosmetics, hospitality, medical devices, electronics, vehicles, drugs, and agriculture. Norris often represents trade associations and joint defense groups in strategic counseling, litigation, and representation before regulatory agencies.

Norris served in a number of leadership positions at his former firm and maintains an active pro bono practice with an emphasis on the LGBTQ+ community. He is a registered lobbyist before the California Environmental Protection Agency and served as a legislative aide to a U.S. senator. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was Editor of the Harvard Law Review, and he earned is B.A. in Computer Science from Brown University, magna cum laude.
